... had been a huge demand for Ostrich feathers which was the main reason so many farms were set up. They also sold the ostrich meat too and made various products from the leather. The ratio was 80% feather sales and 20% meat and leather products. Today the ratios are reversed and they make most of their money from selling the meat….
