... had a chance to get rid of them. I spent my last 3 marks on my date for tonight.....well a packet of dates. We connived to be first off the ferry so we weren't baulked by the cars on the narrow twisty road that took us about 69km to the town of Hvar itself where we are staying at a beautiful waterfront hotel. Very touristy though, you don't get to experience true Croatia I don't think. But still a lovely place. Dubrovnik next, which you can only get to by ...

Once Diocletian vacated his palace people from Salona came down and made shops and homes inside it, creating a city. Over time it became over-populated so people started building shops and houses outside the palace too, creating what we know as Split. When we entered the palace we walked through a cool little alley where people set ...

Day 2 in Croatia...

... over looking the water. It almost seemed as if we were in a cruise ship! I ate a local food called gnosh. They are made of flour and squid (I believe) and then shaped into small balls. They were delicious! We decided to come back to the hotel early because we are going on a tour tomorrow. We are doing an island tour which should be fun! It's an all day tour and we have to be ready before 8pm and we don't get back until 5pm. So it's off to bed early and up ...
