Udaipur
After spending way too much time and money in Delhi, I needed a breath of fresh air. The upcoming Sunday was Viba's birthday so I bought two train tickets for Udaipur, "the most romantic city in India" according to my Rough Guide. Unfortunately I didn’t think to check the name of the train station it was leaving from (there are three in Delhi …
Day 8
We made it to Udaipur, Lake City, and after a much needed cold shower, went for a stroll to the sights. Located the Jagdish Temple and the City Palace (sound familiar?!) This one's home to the Maharana of Rajasthan. Did the museum bit where we took away with us the important information that his favourite horse died either in battle or lame, and …
Swords drawn at dawn
Arriving in Udaipur very sweaty, dirty and sleep deprived after two bus trips from the south, with a brief two hour stop over at Ahmedabad, where a lovely lady called us into her garden and gave us free chai! in was time to relax for a few days in the romantic lakeside city.

TravelPod Member ReviewsPanorama Guest House Udaipur
This guest house is absolutely lovely, with loads of little hidden terraces and patios tucked away on various levels, free internet in the day and wifi in rooms at night although the signal can be ropey and slow in the evening. They also have some tortoises living next to a tent on the first floor terrace. The roof top restaurant is ok in price but great quality food. The staff all very friendly and helpful. The place in clean and pretty and different budget rooms. recommended!

We arrived at 22.30 and had a room without window. Beside the bathroom was falling apart, it was noisy in the hallway our room was connected with during the evening/ night. We left the next morning. The same evening we eat somethin on the rooftop. The coliflower was overcooked and all tasted bad for the price we had to pay.
