We were made to feel really welcome, which is probably why one of the residents returns to this place for 6 months every year. The rooftop bar shows Octopussy at 7pm every night. This is good comfortable budget accommodation.

The Cleanest Guest House So Far in India

This was the cleanest place we've stayed in India. The rooftop view is incredible, and the value of our room tempted us to extend our stay several times longer than we thought we would. Highly recommend!

This guest house is absolutely lovely, with loads of little hidden terraces and patios tucked away on various levels, free internet in the day and wifi in rooms at night although the signal can be ropey and slow in the evening. They also have some tortoises living next to a tent on the first floor terrace. The roof top restaurant is ok in price but great quality food. The staff all very friendly and helpful. The place in clean and pretty and different budget rooms. recommended!

We arrived at 22.30 and had a room without window. Beside the bathroom was falling apart, it was noisy in the hallway our room was connected with during the evening/ night. We left the next morning. The same evening we eat somethin on the rooftop. The coliflower was overcooked and all tasted bad for the price we had to pay.

We left Jodhpur yesterday by car as there isn't a direct train route and the bus works out about the same price. This way we get to stop off at a few more places of interest (you guessed it, another fort :) ) and travel through rural India. As we were driving and on a schedule my pictures were **** but believe me when I say it's a beautiful country …

From Indore the train was another 13 hours to Udaipur, unfortunately there isn't a night train available so we travelled through the day. Night trains are always a better option for long journeys as (obviously) the time goes a lot faster when you're sleeping. Apart from a massive poo in the toilets …

Home of octopussy and expensive curios…

Udaipur is a stunning city, incredible location on the lake and mountains, and really nice food. Beer can be hard to find - you have to climb 4 or 5 flights of stairs to the restaurants to ask if they have beer, and then when they say no, you climb down again and restart your search. I think we walked up the equivalent of 35 floors yes...

We woke to find we had a few more bites than we had the previous day. The little buggers must have been in the bedroom, secretly hiding from us last night. So, after our showers we loaded up with anti-mosquito stuff and headed down to breakfast for the usual cornflak...
