Today was just glorious!  I took the hour and a half bus ride to meet up with several of my wonderful Peace Corps colleagues.  My "bodyguard" accompanied me and, although we encountered a few bumps here and there, we arrived at the bus stop in enough time to take pictures, purchase a few snacks, and laugh and joke with my friends.  Good times. Beautiful sunshine greeted us as we all met up in Johannesburg before the long drive to Kruger.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom country house in Sabie Sands, which is a complex actually IN the safari park, and saw zebra, buck and giraffes among others in 'our' garden. Apparently a leopard had been spotted outside one of the units earlier in the week.
Obviously most of our time was spent in the car (12 hours some days) ...

... wished to see, but not been graced with in the wild, were housed here. The Honey Badger fascinated me, as it eats African Killer bees and because of this tolerance of poisons can kill and eat a black mamba.

Afterward Pierre took us up to his and Tracey’s wedding venue. The pictures do not do the place justice at all. It has a stables and a church that they were sprucing up. We walked around taking in the gardens as the men worked. Pierre said they were still building ...

... everyone- it was great! Woke up this morning to the cat wanting in and little Pluto (the Yorkie) bouncing around (he is so cute!). Had a leisurely breakfast with Sue, took some photos in the back garden, hugged the animals, said goodbye and were off.

We arrived in Pretoria around 10:30am- much earlier than we planned- the roads were not busy at all! We went right to the hotel and checked in early (which was great). Looking at ...
