Great town. It is my favourite Italian town so far. The others prefer Florence to Bologna but not me. I like the wide streets and bigger shops. The people are very chic and stylish and very friendly. They love their dogs and there are plenty of dogs of all types and sizes wandering around. Surprisingly, not that much doggy dos. ... see from the window lights in the apartment block we stayed in that not many people were home. Many of the restaurants and shops had closed roller doors with signs ‘chiuso per ferie’ and didn’t reopen until later in August or even September. It would be nice if businesses in Australia could afford to shut up shop for a whole month, but everyone needs a holiday, and it is a different way of living here. It was a bit disappointing though, as so much ...
