Elephant sanctuary and tiger kingdom
Today we had organised a whole day tour to visit a number of things in north Chiang Mai which are a must do for all itineraries. The tour guide (named Ping Pong!!) came to pick us up at around 8am and our first stop would be the Maeteng Elephant sanctuary which is about 20 kilometres north of Chiang Mai. Sleep deprived we shower at 6am to set off for the border crossing, not wanting to miss the boat at 9.30am.. We walk a km or so to Buk Pier and arrive just after 7am, we are the first to arrive, horrah! We ...
Chiang Khong
... thanks mum!). Still it was only one night and there wasn't really anywhere else that we could go so we stayed put. We had an odd meal in the evening and everyone that was there was keen to get out and spend as little time as possible at the hotel so we all went into a little bar at the top of the street and indulged in some pool and ...
