His entire property was constructed by his hand and was powered by a hydro turbine on the waterfalls in this paradise of yesteryear. ... land rather ungracefully on the floor! Also discovered a gecko in the freezers where we keep the dried mango, safe to say he was rather frozen when I found him! Kevin told us that some geckos will come back to life if you leave them in the sun but I think he was having us on because when we came back to ours he was still very much dead but had accumulated an army of ants who had already started to remove its legs…lovely. ... a u-turn and drove back along the road, looking for a place to eat. After about 500m, a car came straight at me from around a corner. I swerved off the road to get out of its way a I had just noticed the arrow on the road pointing the opposite direction. Yes I just drove 500m up the wrong way of a one way street... ... Island behind. We had a few hours to spare in Townsville so we decided to hit up the aquarium a.k.a Reef HQ. it was pretty cool! We went to a short show about sea turtles and then got to check out the Turtle Hospital which was really neat. They also have an awesome predator tank, with all sorts of sharks and fish. We decided that as we were going to be pretty much driving back on ourselves on the way back down from Cairns to Brisbane, it made sense to do the most boring journey first and get to Cairns as quickly as possible and leave all the fun for the journey back... so... km trip.
