... strips we may have been unimpressed and disappointed. To really experience a country put yourself outside your comfort zone, head off the beaten track, utilise local transport in vans built for 10 and share with 15 or 20 locals and eat the local food. ... because we haven't done many side trips in Jamaica, but they cost so much. To leave the hotel costs you $100 minimum in a taxi, even if it's 15 minutes down the road, then you add on the tour price and tips and it comes very costly. The shower in the bathroom has sosomething wrong with it. My husband had to come in to turn the faucet. When we finally got it working it was a nice shower with both top and handheld showers and jets.
Went to the Block Party buffet since the email I sent for our reservation fell on deaf ears. Too bad it was Valentines Day. They had crab races which were fun. We cracked up every time they said:Welcome to the Braco Village.
Found this guesthouse on a hill outside of Montego Bay in a quiet area with seaview and many nice people. Stayed much longer than planned. At night the only sound is the chirping of the crickets and in the morning the tweeting of the birds, the quietest place I have stayed for a long time! It reminds me much of of my family's holiday place in Cudrefin :-)
