... strips we may have been unimpressed and disappointed. To really experience a country put yourself outside your comfort zone, head off the beaten track, utilise local transport in vans built for 10 and share with 15 or 20 locals and eat the local food. To leave the hotel costs you $100 minimum in a taxi, even if it's 15 minutes down the road, then you add on the tour price and tips and it comes very costly. Found this guesthouse on a hill outside of Montego Bay in a quiet area with seaview and many nice people. Stayed much longer than planned. At night the only sound is the chirping of the crickets and in the morning the tweeting of the birds, the quietest place I have stayed for a long time! It reminds me much of of my family's holiday place in Cudrefin :-)
