    International travel has a lot of rush - wait - rush to it.

    Now siiting in the car at the ferry teminal waiting to board the Coho for Port Angeles - was here about 8:30 or so, to be in time for customs and immigration processing, although the ferry actually leaves at 10:30am.

    I was *grilled* quite closely for quite a while by the Customs and Border agent - here I am, a lone man without an actual named employer ("independent consultant" could mean anything ...

    An early-ish start saw us at Vancouver bus station for our 9:45am bus to begin our journey over to Vancouver Island. We had a quick and unsatisfying breakfast in Tim Horton's (Canada's answer to McDonalds and Greggs all under one roof!) and hopped aboard the bus that would take us to the ferry at Tsawwassen and then to Victoria. A short delay while they extracted a broken-down vehicle in the lower deck and we were aboard, moving straight to the viewing ...

    ... created a magical wonderland. The perfumes wafted on the balmy breeze adding to the magic. Truly amazing.
    Our hotel is wow. We have a 2 bed suite with distant sea view. Very comfy bed and loads of space. The bar down stairs serves a great burger and is famous for its cocktails though we didn't brave that. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, we love it already.

    ... apart from the fact that his own private house, a long way from the factory, also burnt down that night, at exactly the same time! He decided he was better off without the land, and put it up for sale, however, it took him 15 years to sell it, as many believed it to be cursed. The man who eventually bought it thought he'd solve the problem of fire risk by installing the first sprinkler system in that part of the world. That had the problem of fire solved...but mysterious ...

    Went to Victoria meeting this morning. Started off with Sunday School, quite amazing a lot of members of the e celosia go to Sunday school they run 2 adult classes!
