... possibly the most famous and Lamai. Chaweng did become our favourite destination and we spent most of our time their topping up our tans and walking along its 5 kilometre coastline. Although you will have to read our next blog for an interesting scam which occurred there. Even a tropical paradise isn't safe in Thailand.
Oh and its only two and a half weeks until we see Emma's Mum and Dad. Yay!
We are on a sea trip today to the Ang Thong National Marine Park, located north east of Samui and south east of Phangnan. As the captain is giving us the safety briefing on deck, we hit a huge storm, and have to take cover, before he explains to groups separately later on all the info.
Our first activity is a bit of kayaking around an island ...
... wouldn't go near it! Then he said I could old his mother so he popped open a big box and out slithers his 3 meter long, definately not slim mother! I was the only one who'd hold this one, it was very docileand the man had me led flat on the floor while it slithered round me andit was right in my face at one point! Sooooo heavy! I didn't realise that boa snakes were this harmless when they weren't hungry. I don't understand why I'm scared of a ...
Ko Pha Ngan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand kohphangan... of accomplishment. We did it. We graduated. We got certified.
As beer multiplied my head resonated with inner singing. I held a spanking new TEFL certificate in my hand. It had official accreditations from the Ministry of Education, and a registered number for future verification. The TEFL certificate would be listed on my resume directly above my MA degree. After all these years I had finally done it. However, I reminded myself of my original questions: Did I really need ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand javiole2... in the end anyway - a gorgeous brown-red dog (who I named Jessie) who led us the whole way :) The view from the top was gorgeous... it's a shame really because it wasn't the clearest day - that made it great for keeping us cool, but rubbish for providing a good view... it was still totally worth the climb though :) That night Ryan cooked us a lush Thai curry... unfortunately Tom wasn't feeling well, and he felt ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand you_know_zo... people trying to sell you things. Becky and I swam out to a little island just off the beach for a little break from the trinket sellers, only to find that the samll island was infact a nudist beach, population one...we soon left. That night we went for dinner on the beach and I had mussels, yum yum... We felt revitalised from our relaxing few days but were very ready to leave the next morning... sorry Samui, your just not for me.
Ko Samui, Thailand joannesharpe... normally like a fish). Although it was meant to be Smirnoff (and we had to pay more for the privilege of the label), it moderately tasted like whisky. Once on the beach, the supposed array of music was not forthcoming. We got bombarded with dance music, which started off well (a bit of Faithless never goes amiss), but, alas isn't Hattie's favourite form of music. On the beach, there were fire dancers, lit beacons and also ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand danandhat... during a snorkeling trip tomorrow. I finished off the day with a foot scrub, manicure, and pedicure in one of the many massage parlor bungalows set up on the beach. The scenery was perfect, the music was mellow, and the price was just right. After several weeks of wearing flip flops and being out in all the elements, I now have pretty feet again!! I'll update you more as we check out the other islands. Live, love, laugh, Alicia
Ko Samui, Thailand aliciay98... food, to try and find a film or something to watch, we were unsuccessful so went down to beach for a coupke a drinks and a cracking game of Eye Spy, carzy fools!! Then we had a a walk down the beach and back again before saying farewells to Mark and Paddy, who were leaving the next day! 02/01/08 We got up and checked out of Bongo, and headed off for Haad Salat.
