When it rains, it sometimes pours

A travel blog entry by iloveeurope35 on Jan 07, 2015

Today was one of our dedicated SOYA days, which was convenient due to the fact that we would have achieved equally as little even if it wasn't. The reason we would have achieved so little was due to the weather, where for the first time on our trip so far, we experienced rain. The rain was intermittent and the temperature stayed at a still fairly high top of 27 degrees Celsius.

We woke up shortly after 8:30AM, and after waking Mum up ...

A charming chap who made a point of chatting to us both on our last day and actually came to wave us off as we left on the boat at midday to be raced to Tongsai Bay back on Koh Samui.

And that was our stay in Samui. No running around to visit sites, no crazy stories. Just a few days of relaxing at the beach.

... I got wet from it first. Jason thought he was in luck because the man closest to him didn't have any water left in his small bucket to dump on Jason, but he was wrong! The man led Jason by his arm back to the big barrel of water, filled up his bucket, and let Jason experience the freezing cold blast of water that I endured! We still had quite a ways to walk when a woman on a motorbike taxi was really insistent on providing transport for us. She ...

... was literally led down sleeping. We couldn't get over how drunk and out of it people seemed to be. It looked like most people were drugged or on drugs stumbling around and being sick was a lovely site. We danced a bit and then got hungry and grabbed food from one of the stands. It took us 20 minutes to walk across the beach to the toilets which is madness! At about 4am we decided we'd had enough and headed back to the hostel. Of course just as we are about to fall ...
