... traffic. Nothing to worry about, we thought this will clear as it usually does, but no, not this time. Apparently there was quite a sever crash about a mile ahead, and we were well and truely wedged into two lanes of jammed vehicles. There was a procession of ambulance, police and fire appliances squeezing between the two lanes of traffic on the A417, but when the air ambulance arrived, we knew we were in for a wait. We pulled out our thermos, and ...

    ... fed meat and poultry.

One of the things I like best about the British is that they hold on to their traditions. Here, butchers wear hats. I’ve noticed it in Weegmanns pork shop, in small game and meat shops, in a supermarket and here in the farm store. Almost all wear fedoras. Seriously: Fedoras. I decided I wanted a photo, so I hunkered behind a shelf of preserves, zoomed in ...

    BBQ with the Harvey family

A travel blog entry by obriensaway on Jun 21, 2014

... where the Harvey's live. Martin, Julie, Ellen and Millie live in the main house and pat lives in a connected unit. Looks like one large house. Magnificent BBQ. Had steak, BBQ mushrooms, black pudding (which is actually very tasty), tossed salad, coleslaw, potatoes. Dessert was fresh berries - they are divine, so tasty, pattelone, ice cream and meringues. The boys managed to drink martins 50th birthday present which was a 3 litre bottle of red wine. It was huge. Home by ...
