The Grand Palace, and more filth

... the end of our wander we spent twenty minutes in the main sanctuary, a temple that contains a tiny jadeite statue of Buddha only 75cm tall. The floor was full of cross-legged people paying respect to the image. You had to remove your shoes at the door, and take care not to point your feet at the Buddha, as this is seen as disrespectful. It was nice and quiet and me and Brian had a contemplative chat about religion.

Once we'd left the palace compound ...

Bangkok, oriental setting...

... items, art, furniture, anything. The heat and humidity was horrendous considering I left 50-something degree weather behind in Boston. We sat down for a mid-afternoon Thai beer at an outdoor bar at the market and chatted. We next ended up at a palace that had been converted to a museum, with so many interesting and old possessions like instruments, decorations, and household items. I was done by 8 PM, the time change and the jet lag had finally caught up ...

Let the Adventure Begin

... start... Although I would like to mention that 18 hours on a plane seems to give me the horrible "kankle" syndrome.

Luckily I bought a high speed umbrella; it can withstand the high speeds of a Bangkok tuk-tuk in a down pour (even though, according to the locals, it's no longer the rainy season.)

Wandering back to the past at Sampraeng!

... is in the middle of Bangkok, I almost forget. Then we walked to the old garage where there were a lot of old cars. I and my friends sat on there and took a photo as well. It was cool especially the one which the door could be opened at the different way from the car now a day. After that we went to the other road next to Praeng Phuthon called Praeng Nara. In the normal day which the car could pass, there are so many foods along the street but ...

Landing time is accurate as we could see the bustling city of Bangkok.
I then was surprised to discover Bangkok is slightly more prosperous than Kuala Lumpur.

DXB-BKK. Flight went well.. Apart from 55+ man next to me who went a little too deep into what he was planning on doing with his 2 weeks in Thailand. I certainly didn't sympathizes with him when he told me how hard it is to differentiate between the lovely Thai girls and boys. the conversation ended then.

I knew that it would be the last time id be drinking champagne in a while so defiantly didn't ...

Walkin' Around Town.

... I don't think it was, but it was like a huge catacomb of food and flower sellers. There were so many amazing vegetables that I had never seen in my life. I had to take pictures of some of them just to confirm that what I was seeing was real.

I made my way eventually to the waterfront and tried to get a boat to take me across to Wat Arun but all I kept running into where these huckster tourboats that promised you an hour tour around the canals to show you the "real ...

We then got a taxi from the airport to The Davis hotel, where the taxi driver decided to let the bags hang out the back of the boot because it wouldn't shut with our luggage in it and with the speed he was driving I'm surprised we arrived at he hotel with our luggage!! We checked in fine and got shown to our room which was pretty big and much more luxurious than our Hong Kong accommodation! Photos are attached!

Next day we ...

... much. Does anybody actually contemplate this stuff? Really? I could just be crazy. Someday I'm going to be homeless from thinking myself crazy. I believe life is all about shaping and reshaping your pysche and perception of reality via realizations. One day I will have warped and disfigured my perception of reality so much that I'll be on a different universe. I will be Leslie Cochran!!! Haha, I'm out, this is too much. I'm officially a loon! Put me in ...

A Dash to Wat Arun, A 'Dirty' Massage, To Laos.

Yesterday, I met a Thai guy from Bangkok (has a ring to it, doesn't it?) who's been resident here for the past year or two studying engineering at the uni. I told him what I thought about the Tuk Tuk drivers getting help with their petrol. He thought my idea that the Thai Government should subsidize the drivers was a good idea. He come down to town yesterday to see the Queen officially open the new City Library here, being interested because of his ...
