    ... wooing a Saudi prince. I tried a Brunei soup which was very good. We stood outside the palace gates, went to a huge mosque and a fancy hotel for some reason. We were exhausted and late back to the ship. Somehow the rest of the group thought it was a good tour. We hated most of it. Oh well.     ... wicket but very much lacked an impressive new pavilion! We ended up giving up on the hawker food stalls and sampled a random cafe that we had passed - cheap and average food, but not the quality we were hoping to eat without fear of making things worse. The search for food had taken us a fair way from the centre so a bus back was necessary, getting dropped off just outside a tourist information office that we quite handily were in need of. ...

    ... is $1/ person. Later in the afternoon we hire a water taxi to take us to the proboscis monkey's, a view of the palace and a tour around the stilt village. The price starts at $40, but we decide on $30. It takes about 15 minutes of riding around the mangroves and water ways until we see the first of the proboscis monkeys.
