          Quaint and homely Indian hospitality

We enjoyed our two night stay at Mrs B's, were made very welcome, Miss B and the staff are so friendly. We were in the Bambi Suite and it was very quaint - the exterior of the accommodation is rather austere looking but inside, although quite dark, the room was cozy and had everything we needed - old fashioned bath tub, except for WiFi which was hit and miss (and chargeable extra although the charge was waived as it was so hit and miss). What we especially liked about Mrs B's was the gardens which are beautifully kept, providing a tranquil haven from the hustle and bustle of Amritsar. Breakfast was lovely, we also ate dinner on both nights too -in the dining/pantry area of Miss B's own accommodation - and this was simple but tasty home fayre cooking, after long days of sightseeing it was nice not to have to worry about going out to find acceptable restaurants. Mrs B's guesthouse is on the outskirts of the main Amritsar town centre and whilst a bit of a trek, we were able to walk to the Golden Temple from there and the walk itself is an interesting experience. Laundry can be organised too - collected/returned on the same day. If you are on a budget and want something different to a standard hotel eg genuine Indian hospitality then Mrs B's could be the place for you.

BEST Overlander Camping spot in Amritsar

The best place for a chilled and relaxed time...with huge gardens and swiming pool. THE spot for Overlanders! Great first or last stop when coming or going to Pakistan1 They are used to overlander vehicles and have fair prices for camping: 200 rp/day + 100rp vehicle. Meals are good but a bit expensive.

expensive wifi, pooor staff, only reason this place is still here is they are using the old girls reputation, otherwise no one would ever come here, but when you are here in a grtoup, you are stuck here, miles from toown

The rooms are frozen in time. Everything is at least 50 years old yet immaculate. It has been lovingly looked after. The hosts are charming, always willing to help. It is a little costly compared to similar standards in Rajasthan. However, it has lovely gardens and a clean swimmimg pool. A very restful stay.

Yes that's right I swallowed a fly, perhaps I'll die or get very sick? No none of the above, yah for antibiotics.  We slept most of the day when we got to Amritsar as we had organised a night trip at 4pm. It was really hot so was good to stay in the AC room. The trip that evening was to the India Pakistan border. The border closes at 4 and then ...
