Instead the bills go to committees to be reviewed and commented on by anyone in the country for free - every bill proposed is announced via a classified add for anyone to come forward and make a comment on. The committee reads all of the comments, and people can even do a presentation to the committee on the bill they made comments on. With only 4 million people in all of New Zealand, I guess this form of government works for them.

    Today I got the bus to Wellington Zoo! It was really empty (of people) so that was good. I saw lots of different animals, a giraffe tried to lick my face! I saw sunbeams here, which I've never been before. They were strange looking bears, their heads looked like they were squashed.
