... family home in Makara just outside the City. It was beautiful. 21 acres of land, sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, 3 dogs, 2 cats and a little boy called Jack. We also met James' wife Lou and had home made pizzas in front of the fire before heading off to bed. I got to sleep in a double bed with real bedsheets for the first time since being in New Zealand. ...

New Zealand is a land of hyperbole, a land of epic greatness with outstanding natural beauty to be seen everywhere you turn. Its sounds and fjords can be the richest and deepest of blues, the waves crash on pristine sandy beaches and remote, rocky coastline with incredible power, forces from beneath ...

... So we were on the way to Nelson and off to stop at Tasman Bay Hostel the home of the famous free chocolate pudding, as recommended by Tim. It only took about 2 hours to get to Nelson but there was not one bit of straight road. Not one. I have never been on such a winding road in my life. We got home about 9.15 and Tim and I were preparing to go to the pub to watch the ANZAC test when Tim heard it was washed out in Brisbane and has been postponed to Sunday. We late heard they had 150 mm in Brisbane with 75mm between ...

    ... outside.

Not a great night to be going out with the inclement weather upon us, but as we enjoyed the Chinese so much from the previous visit, a group of the Queenslanders went back again for dinner tonight. As we settled back into our room, you could hear the wind roaring outside our window. Wouldn't like to be out in that. Windy Wellington was showing its true colours.

Tomorrow is our last free day for both of us.
