Jem awake quite early and keen to shop! Katie slept in as she had a bit of making up to do!!

... ethnically diverse up-and-coming neighborhood. The hotel was nicely appointed and had a wonderful pool on the roof, which was the home to many wonderful afternoon naps. Las Ramblas is a bit chaotic, though it wasn't nearly as seedy or full of theft as online travel sites make it out to be. The renowned Sagrada Famila intrigued me for reasons I cannot quite define. Its famous, yes, as is Gaudi, but so are many other places. Maybe it has more to do with that I respect honest belief, and Antonio Gaudi has plenty of that. Maybe I was curious, in spite of my lack of knowledge and interest about modern art, about what kind of Cathedral the unique and eccentric man would create for his masterpiece.
