Alright for a night or two

No atmosphere, expensive food, expensive bookshop, noisy in the morning, staff not overly helpful, no services (laundry/travel etc.) provided... Oh and the wifi wasn't particularly good...
But the room was cheap, and the location was good.

We only needed a night. It is OK, clean and tidy. A little noisy as there is a bar right next to the rooms open late. Menu is good and good location if you want a spot by the bars and a short walk to the beach.

Despite all the reviews telling us not to, and despite an ominous "BE CAREFUL, OK?" from our friendly guesthouse owner, we booked the 12 hour night bus from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville.

It was fine. Don't drink too much water, listen to music or something, try to sleep, keep your belongings close, dress for all temperatures, don't …

Finally we were on the bus to the south coast. We had decided to stay on Serendipity beach, mainly because I like to say the word, but also this was the main lively area with several mellow beach bars and restaurants. We checked into a small guesthouse called Mick and Craig's on the main strip to Serendipity. The room was basic and unfortunately …

Sok San, for a bit of Beach cure

For the last 4 days I have been very busy indeed, eating sleeping, swimming, then eating again, sitting down and then even walking at one point! This was a lovely island where there wasn't much to do and quite frankly it was so nice just experiencing this place I could have stayed a week and not get bored.
