... in the lavatory, the flight went smoothly. When we landed the temperature was 78 degrees, coolish for Miami, but for us, blissfully warm. By the time we picked up the rental car (miles from the airport-an exaggeration, but not by much), negotiated the traffic to Miami Beach checked in at the Redbury, our choice among what seems like at least a hundred boutique hotels in Miami Beach) and unpacked, it was time to think about lunch.

... preventing the unloading of the incoming aircraft we were going out on. Got away about 15 minutes late. Marie had a spare seat next to her even though the computer said it was unavailable. The plain had WIFI but it was $9 an hour so i didn't use it but deleted a few photos from the zoo. Arrived in Miami at 6.35 local time (5.35 Louisiana). $32 cab fare to Seagull Hotel South beach. Old and daggy but comfortable.

... along the beach as the weather was warm and the atmosphere vibrant. We loved the sight of the art deco hotels lit up in the dark, quite a beautiful sight. I slept with ear plugs in as we had a room overlooking the beach however, there was music pumping from downstairs so the earplugs helped block it out. We will explore South Beach a little more in the morning before heading to Fort Lauderdale for our Caribbean ...

... The hotel and my room is sooo nice. I was not expecting anything so spacious so will definitely be sleeping well tonight. Dinner is mac and cheese so getting those carbs in before my South American diet. And I have free wifi, which is good. So all in all I can't complain and I love Miami! But yes Quito...hmmhopefully I will be there tomorrow. For now, time for bed. ...
