ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city I“d love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... Not only have the donations received already far exceeded my expectations, but the kind words and general interest and support that I have received have been amazing. So thank you all. It is all very much appreciated and I can't believe that between us we really will change these little lives. It is my motto here in Antibes, but this is the ultimate "think globally; act locally ...
Antibes, Provence, France marianner... not limited by bus and train timetables. The other upside is that we are quite comfortably staying within our 50 Euro a day budget (25 Euro each) - yep that's fuel, food, the occasional wine or 3 out at a bar, entrance fees, the lot!! Downside of campervaning... it is a lot harder socialising and meeting other people. In a hostel this is easy especially if you are in an 8 bed dorm with a bunch of strangers. In a van you don't have this opportunity and most other vanners ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!
When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...
... and just a main for Dee. This way, we could share the entree and dessert, without breaking the bank. For our entree we chose salad nicoise, as we figured when in Rome.... it was very nice (no pun intended) and Dee is already pumped to make it back home.
Thus concluded our stay on the French Riviera, a place we have definitely earmarked as somewhere to come back to, however we'll make sure its summer next time (and Dee will get a tan before arriving, so as not to offend the locals). Next stop, Barcelona.
okay, so we are now in Nice!! (Jelisa, thats in France. hehe.) The train ride here was the longest but most beautifully scenic ride I have ever experienced. I tried so hard not to fall asleeep in hopes of capturing the view... Beaches, mountains, palm trees and sunsets.. wowwwwww. (and naked men . hehe.) So we arrived here at about 830 lastnight.. just enough ...
Vėliau paaiskėja, kad ne visi is mūsų.... Ryte vos prabudus vieni gauna pramogą, kiti galvos skausmą prisimenant vakar dienos kai kurių keliauninkų naktinėjimus su alkoholiniais gėrimais bei miegą neypatingai tam ...
Biot, France kankel... a drink in his hand... yep, it was a martini, shaken, not stirred. About 6 of us sat down a the minimum 2 Euro bet roulette table. I put down 20 Euro at the beginning, I chose my numbers and stuck with them. Luck was definitely on my side that night - I pulled 137 Euro off the table!!! I almost passed out every time one of my numbers came up. I'd built up my winnings to around 80 Euro, and thought why not go the minimum 25 Euro ...
