... seurata suomalaisen Nunnukamiehen showta, kun kavelimme muun vakijoukon mukana bussipysakille. Iltapalaksi herkuttelimme KFC-kanaa.
Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia amatsinrake... place isboring! If we'd not come from the delightful Georgetown onto KL we'd maybe have a different opinion; after all, it's a big city, the capital of Malaysia and all cities have a bad side to them. There is one place I would recommend visiting if you ever have the misfortune to spend any time here, and that is the Central Market, where, for a shiteload of money, you can buy gorgeous holiday souvineirs such as handcrafted batik scarves, rugs, pewter ornaments and antiques.
Penang, Malaysia tjwanderer... to bed with an air of anticipation, and a reassurance that we wouldn't be woken up for dawn prayer, pheww.. Roti's were on the menu for brekky and then Matt, myself and Lina (the Canadian girl), took a trip to a local nature park. Lina was excited about the monkeys, but matt and I had seen that all before. We navigated the local buses with breeze, and made it back in time for the big family lunch. Lina and I had donned traditional Malay dresses. ( I am ...
Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia mattandnicoleWell, it's almost all over. Our last night. A very busy day. All morning in the Surria KLCC shopping centre followed by 2 organised trips including a walk around the observation deck of the KL tower, 257 mts above the city, bloody high up anyway. This is some city, it doesn't know what it wants to be, Malaysian, Chinese, Indian, Modern or old. But it is a very busy place all the same. It's been great. See ya.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia paulandliz... looked at the map and nodded. He then took us to the wrong church. Thankfully, we could walk from where we were dropped to our original destinations: the State Secretariat building and Istana building, stopping along the way only to buy some drinks, which included the rather bizarrely coloured Pepsi Gold. The next day, we decided to risk the trains again and go to Cyberjaya and Putrajaya - the federal administrative capital ...
Seremban, Malaysia sumnerp... that the museum was undergoing renovation and was mostly closed. Luckily we could still view and go inside the timber houses, the best of which was Istana Ampang Tinggi, built to house the sultans daughter in 1868, a dark timber creation on wooden stilts containing beautiful and intricate leaf carvings on its paneling. We removed our shoes and climbed the steps to the veranda and the entered the front door of the house. The timber ...
Seremban, Malaysia heathermills... ignoring them instead of the usual cheery 'No thanks' reply repeated many times over. Further down Jalan Bukit Bintang we were lured into the maze of shopping malls by the need to get some food and the fluorescent signs outside. We soon discovered that KL is a bit of a shoppers paradise with just as many gadget and clothes shops as Singapore but with cheaper prices. Paul was swayed by the bargains to be had and purchased a Sony SLR camera, as he had been envious of my Canon EOS ...
Seremban, Malaysia stefanieandalex... pretty talkative. They are all so fun. Kelly gives great lessons. Last night was on Uncommon calling - 1 Peter 2:9. We all drew on posters within our groups about what it means to be uncommon. I drew hands on our person. John's lesson today was on uncommon love, but I have notes on that one in the back of the camp book. We have tea time every day, twice a day. There is hot tea (Indian kind, with sugar and milk), coffee ...
Serembin, Malaysia shannon... Lauren, Amy Jason, Garrett, and Lacy. It was so much fun learning new songs and reminiscing about old ones. This is one Amy taught me that I love... apple red happiness gum drop cheerfulness cinnamon singing inside peppermint energy gum drop holiday when you give Christ your life. There's more, and I'm going to ask her to teach me later. Jason had a funny one about frogs. I love to sing ...
