Heartbreaking Cambodia
After a remarkably straightforward journey from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh, marred only by a bit of ankle biting by some resident bugs on the bus, we are all ready to experience a brand new country, which we are expecting to combine the laid back Laos attitude with the Vietnamese hustle and bustle. We are pretty much right - smiling, shouting tuk …
Sean Penn, Phnom Penh
We decide to pay a little extra for a Giant Ibis bus from Sihanoukville to Phnom Pehn. €9, 5hrs, 2 movies, A/C and wi-fi. Not bad. Phnom Penh is a huge city with a very spread out 'centre'. The street numbering is all over the place and there's no public transport. Motorbikes, tuk-tuks and walking so. We go with Me Mates Place on 90th St next …

Sad history
I started my adventure in Cambodia in the country's capital, Phnom Penh. There is a lot of sad history in Cambodia and especially in Phnom Penh, where lots innocent lives were taken. I enjoyed my time in Phnom Penh, especially walking around the night market. Please feel free to check out my photos :-)

TravelPod Member ReviewsMe Mates Place Phnom Penh
Great guesthouse - cool, modern, clean, well run, friendly, good location, good food, good internet connection, good tuk tuk drivers outside, plus monkeys.

Good clean rooms with A/C and TV. Right next to the river and Wat Phnom. Tony Mantana working at the front desk was brilliant. Good food too, but a little overpriced.

A bit far away from the action and breakfast was fairly expensive. Not too many other options around for b'fast meaning we had to eat there.
Staff very friendly and room quite good.

Clean and contemporary rooms-even have real showers enclosures!! Fab mural on the wall. Staff are friendly. Food is good, bit expensive but on par with most tourist places in PP.
Would happily stay here again.

This place is fine for a clean and new hotel in a resonable location. The staff are friendly enough although not as welcoming as I had found elsewhere in Cambodia.
