Cruise 2 Day 4

... until 6pm. We found a table and got some food from the buffet and watched the news as CNN is playing. We are not looking forward to heading home tomorrow and are trying to find a way to stay here. We headed to the 7th floor to find a quiet place to play cards and have a coffee/hot chocolate. The ship has a lot going on this evening and we plan to see as much as we can. We plan to have dinner in ...

... on to another spot on the Sea of Abaco. The temperature today is in the 80s, a bit humid, windy and sunny. John has spent some time in the engine room (surprise, surprise), attending to needed maintenance, but we are presently relaxing near the pool under an umbrella soon to partake of an “island concoction.” Loving the fresh fish here, so tonight we will probably try the conch chowder and salad. ... ice and do laundry. At one point Chad reported seeing a 9 foot shark under his boat. The water is so clear and smooth it is surreal. It's quite un-nerving to be sailing along and you can see the bottom in 25 feet of water. It was a long hot day today as we led the fleet through the dreaded Whale Cay Passage. It's a narrow opening between two huge rocks and an island that took us out into the Atlantic to avoid shoals in the Sea of Abaco. It lasted for about 5 miles in the ...

Golf in Grand Bahamas

There was a delay getting berthed at Freeport and so the ship just drifted offshore in the heat for a day or two. This drifting is not a pleasant experience and the delay gets on all the crew's nerves, especially in that blistering heat. As it turned out once we berthed, I was able to taxi to a golf course, The Lucayan Reefs GC and played a round with rented clubs. Not the best value for my ...
