... decided to go and have a look at the Opera House a bit closer up. I haven't realised that this was actually more than one structure so this was good to look around, and the exterior is made up of what looks like tiny tiles to give the shell effect. we had really hoped to go to the botanical gardens but there wasn't much point since the rain was coming in now so we went for ice cream and coffee on Circular Quay.

The pylon you can go up is on the right hand side of the bridge and about 1/3 of the way along. There's security along the bridge who have on those massive hats and sun cream streaks on their face but theyre pretty friendly. ... and humid in the American south to near freezing in Atlantic Canada. Needless to say a variety of clothing items made their way into our luggage.
I was still sending work emails from the Q lounge until one colleague at work replied by saying stop sending emails from the Qantas lounge. So I did and had some more red wine.
Thus we spent a pleasant afternoon awaiting our flight to the city of angels.
