... up before they hit the water. There were plenty of immaculately turned out beach bums dressed head to foot in their sponsors' gear. All in all, we saw about half a dozen heats in round one of the men's competition. Once in the water, they competed in groups of four, each wearing a different coloured rash vest. Not bad for an impulsive decision made while walking back from breakfast one Sunday morning really. However, what I didn't share with my beloved at the time, before tracking more miles than a sparrow migration and ignoring the responsible list of things we were supposed to do now that our age starts with a '3' and our bank accounts have zeros in the front ...

... town Sydney, we saw the Darling harbour, the Sydney harbour bridge, the Oprah house and we did a nice walk through a royal botanical gardens. Returning from the city very hungry we grabbed fish and chips and head to the beach were we watched babes sun tan and dudes ripping it on the surf (I feel that language fits the situation better). The next day we woke up and did a five km walk from Bondi beach to Coogee. It was beautiful and we started to find out why they ...
