A lovely little lady named Amy work here. She was more then accommodating to all guest with a lovely nature and always willing to help. Although the pool was not yet complete, this can be over looked the rooms where clean, great Internet, laundry service, close to every thing. A great atmosphere.

      Incompetent Staff but clean

The room is really clean, the shower is really working and you can acces the guesthouse 24h/24, they have a laundry service a little overpriced with the free wifi (not in every room)
The problem is that they try to make you fill the check in form before you see the room, you have to pay in advance (a little expensive) and everyday you have someone waking you up to ask for cleaning the room. If you're not in it, they enter inside the room to clean it ... A little risky if you leave valuable stuff inside.
And even if you want to sleep, you HAVE to put on the door the "don t disturb me, i'm sleeping" pannel, otherwise they wake you up everyday.
But overall you HAVE to say everyday that you keep the room for the next day, because the lady is so incompetent that she don't notice you this. In my case they knock at the door at 12AM to say i had to leave because the room was booked for someone else and accusing me not saying i would keep it (after 3 days I was already in it ) and that she didn't see me the day before (lie, i talked to her 3 times at least and she never noticed me i had to check out the next day). Great to pack your stuff in a few minutes after a bad wake up with someone accusing you of stupid lier stuff.

So, clean, little overpriced but incompetent staff who smile at first but just want your money.
      (Sorry for my poor english)

Well the time for the Loy Krathong festival had finally arrived! For the next 3 days the evenings would be full of sky and ground lanterns, floating krathongs in the river and fireworks. All festivities were at night so during the days I still spent the day exploring Chiang Mai until the sunset then it was party time!

The coach ride back to Chiang Mai wasn't as comfortable as the one getting to Chiang Rai. The coach was full for pretty much the entire trip, with the majority of people boarding at the stop outside of town. So I had 3.5hrs (close to 4 with traffic around Chiang Mai) crammed next to a Thai lady who deemed it ok to sit with her legs crossed for most …

Today we are traveling from chaing rai to chaing mai on the green vest for two hours and 50 minutes (288B; ~$9). It's scary how cheap transportation is over here compared to back home when I recently found out that Rebecca paid $40 one way from London to Toronto!! It seems like 7-Eleven is going to be our best friend for breakfast food. We have …

How we traveled from Kalaw (Myanmar) to Chiang Mai (Thailand)...

After 11 wonderful days spent in Myanmar it was time for us to leave. Since there were some uncertainties related to the border crossing it couldn't be a sudden decision. We had the following doubts:

Is it possible to take a bus from Taunggyi to Keng Tung?

      Our Home in Chiang Mai

Our last night in our hotel wasn’t nearly as comfortable as the first as we were plagued by noise from revellers leaving the nearby bars and by an inconsiderate neighbour who had the television blaring in the early hours of the morning. Consequently, we were still very sleepy when we moved our belongings into the studio which we hope...
