. . . . well actually we never did get a ferry across the Mersey. We used the train instead to reach The Wirral and the town of New Brighton having travelled from Derby via Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

... our hotel quite easily and checked in. This is the only hotel where we have to pay for parking - however, when we check out we are entitled to a 20% discount on the parking. The car is parked a block away at the parking building attached to the Liverpool Football Club arena. The hotel is situated at Albert Dock in a former warehouse. The Albert Dock area has been transformed into a fabulous tourist precinct with restaurants, museums and pedestrian areas.

... a point with only minutes remaining. The post game transport options were crowded and lacking so I decided to try and walk off the beers, curry wurst and chips so I made the 5km walk back into town. After a few more beers with my Egyptian roommates (not sure if they were being naughty Muslims or were Christian Egyptians????) it was time for bed after ticking off yet another items of my life ...

... has free laundrettes so we decide to pack for a 2/3 week holiday and wash and iron a lot! the evenings will involve a lot of mix and match, and for the cold weather a few jumpers, scarf and hat and a waterproof jacket . Then there are the shoes and accessories so we start worrying about wardrobe space. ... David and Jayne dropped us off at home about 17.30, Tim was there putting our heating on. We had left it on for an hour in the morning and evening but with the colder weather the house was quite chilly. Decided on fish and chips for supper so I fetched those whilst Fiona put the first of the washing on, also had a lager to wash down our anti malaria tablets.
