Monaco: The best of it all in one little country
... floating in a beautiful, serene place lost to time.
Our dinner at VistaMar in the Hermitage Hotel (One of Monte Carlo/Monaco's top 10 restaurants) was complete with foie gras, sea bass, lamb, chocolate fondant and Grand Marnier Souffle... a perfect ending to an amazing meal. We finished the night in a small club cut into the side of a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean.

Day 16 - The Monte Carlo
... It can be quite disorienting to when your used to paying the person that serve you and ten they ask you in another language to pay elsewhere! It was a very good croissant though! It had a subtle salty taste which was nice :). After strolling through the small streets for a whole we went back to the hotel to book another night and pay for some wifi. We return to the ancestral manse
... which was within smelling distance of La Golondrina. We rarely ate there—it was hardly like going out—but it seemed appropriate for this visit. From our table on the terrasse of the restaurant we could see the roof of our old house.
Finally it was time to walk, as we’d done so many times, under the arches of the thick city wall into the bustling core of St Paul de Vence. The same tourists milled up and down the stone paths, holding dripping ...
A Nice Time
... a couple of hours before heading back to get our 7pm train. We had left our three rucksacks in a large locker in the luggage deposit system in the train station (only 9.50 euro for the whole day as opposed to 5 euro per bag for 5 hours in Venice and .70c for each extra hour!) so we headed back in time to change out of our wet togs and get our luggage sorted before catching the next train.
