... we made our windy way back down the hill through the markets (found an awesome lolly shop!) to the world famous pebble beach. We were extremely lucky with the weather as it was hot and made for a great time catching some rays on the beach. I collected some pebbles but unlike a few of our crazy tour members most definitely did not go for a swim even though there wasn't a cloud in the sky!

After our quick visit, we headed to Monaco, an independent country 5km x 3km. Monaco is very famous because of Princess Grace Kelly. Monaco has practically no crime as there as so many police officers and they wear Armani uniforms. Apparently there is a police officer to every 5 people ...

... of time on the ground. But by noon we were feeling a lot better compared to twelve hours earlier. The crashing waves, warm sea air and big sun didn't take long to work their refreshening ways either. By mid-afternoon we were happily searching the nooks and crannies along the cobblestone streets lined with every type of pastel-coloured shop we could imagine.

... On the bus it didn't seem far however after walking for at least 20mins we realised that our eyes must have deceived us. We did however find an alternative strip of shops which was enjoyable to get out of the hot midday sun (would have been at least 35 degrees).
Back at the western peninsula we re-boarded our bus ready for the return trip to Villefranche.
