Mahogany House Suites Key West

... a chance to fully experience the waters of the Keys. There aren't to many beaches here, but the water is the beautiful, and that is the attraction.
We took a catamaran out into the gulf for a full day of boating, snorkeling, swimming, and the best of all parasailing. We we're pretty tired after this full day of fun and decided to hang out with our AC, play some games and just relax.

06/10/2009 - Woke up in the morning to a lovely free breakfast by the pool of the hotel with relaxing music playing in the background, beautiful. Jim headed up to the harbour after breakfast to try and find a spare place on a boat to go fishing, but no joy. 04/10/2009 - Last night Jim went down to the pier to meet Fred for some late night fishing. I popped down about 11pm and Jim was all on his own desperate to catch something. Fred had already given up hope and gone out for pizza instead. It was really spooky on the pier at night, pitch black with the only light coming from the moon. Okay we lied. We said we wouldn't be doing a blog entry today but we wanted to tell how nice it is here and what a beautiful relaxing day we have had. The day started late. We slept in until about 7:45 a.m. it was weird for us but we were exhausted after yesterdays ride, and it just felt so good to sleep in.

Key West Excusion
Sail and Snorkeling adventure - $39 per person

was thoroughly disappointed at the snorkeling part of this excursion
because well, the highlight of my snorkel was seeing a DORI (from NEMO
fish movie) fish. We were very far away from any real corals or any
kind of real underwater scenery. Plus, I felt like we were in the water
to snorkel and then they were immediately calling us back. Boo!

... gedauert, bis ich denn dann mal alles gefunden abe was ich wollte - und vollbepackt mit plastiktüten rauf aufs rad und wieder nach hause. die kücheist riesengroß und man kann sich echt austoben. für den einstieg gab es etwas einfaches: tomate-mozarella-basilikum, dann pizza und schließlich frischen obstsalat mit eis. die resonanz war durchweg positiv und ich darf das unternehmen "kochen" wiederholen. jetzt gehts ab ins bett - morgen ist nämlich schon wieder montag :-(

Like many things on a vessel, most of the time there is no major activity. But if shipping comes on the radar at 0300 in the am, our job is to do a radar plot and potentially get on the radio to collaborate with crew on the other vessel. ... of people out on the beach but there's a good handful. Everyone drives/rents a scooter down here. I've seen them everywhere. We walked up and down the beach and now we are chilling before we go snorkeling. There's a whole lot of seaweed in Key West, especially in the shallow parts of the ocean.
