... had brought us to the station as if it was some sort of favour! So we all refused. This was a public bus station, we hadn't paid for a public bus ride! We relentlessly took us over to a tatty looking bus and we hushed on at the back, we put our bags down and Scott noticed that the guy paid for our ticket on the bus to Phuket, oh how generous of him. ... training so we could get the boat fixed. A couple more trips to town for supplies and spares/parts were undertaken and we found a local diesel mechanic to do the job. We berthed the boat without too much problems (really strong current and one engine into the marina for the first time - talk about throwing us into the deep end!) and had a celebratory cocktail. We had made it more than 170 NM, about half under sail and limped in on one engine, but we had made it. What a relief and ...

... jungle... 100s of steps + heavy backpack + burning sun = not fun..!! We settled in and went out for dinner followed by a cocktail on the beach.. and then another... and then another! We ended up in Slinky Bar where Jonathan jumped through a ring of fire (sorry Mum's!) We stumbled back to our room ... funny enough the climb back wasn't so bad as earlier...

... particular was the center of all of this (and drunk tourists), so of course Emily and I went there, found a bar table facing the street, and just took it all in. We watched prostitutes try to pick up guys, argued over whether a particular person was a guy or a girl (something we realized we really took for granted back home, not that it matters any), and laughed at tourists making fools of themselves.
