Lydia's place was recommended to me by a couple of friends. It is a lovely place, I have a studio apartment which includes my very own kitchen, air con, a fan, and a T.V., which allowed me to watch the Grey Cup game. It is simple, but clean; Lydia is wonderful; her and I had a great chat this afternoon. It is a couple of minutes walk from the beach, and about a 10 minute walk into the Village. I liked the place so much that I extended my stay by two weeks, on the second day I was here!!

If you don't like Lydia's Guesthouse and its charming host then you are going to find it hard to fit in to Placencia. It's reasonably priced, comfortable, offers hot showers, a shared kitchen amd wifi. And it's a stone's throw from the beach. A great place to kick back and slot into the easy going pace of this homely Caribbean village.

Yesterday was a fantastic day!! At the age of 61, I caught my first lobster, actually gaffed it from under a rock. Boy! was I excited, and YES! I ate what I killed. Now, it was quite a battle, with the lobster almost winning, but I managed to persevere and was finally able to get the sucker into the boat. I went out with a fellow named Chino, a …

It is only 7pm, and I am exhausted! it is a happy exhaustion that I feel though. 30 degrees today, an early morning walk on the beach, breakfast at Da Shak, a swim and a beach recline, another swim and home for lunch. After lunch visited some local folks; Brenda - she makes the best

... normally this would be an impossible task but we arrive at our final destination on time and I have my luggage - take note KLM!!!

True we are not bothering with non essential items like security screening of people or bags, nor do we need an in flight safety demonstrations or cabin crew of any sort but this is the most chilled out flying experience. Flight 1 goes from Corozal to San Pedro, I feel the need to share this detail in case it is not apparent from the details ...
