Travel Blogs from Santillana del Mar
On the road again for one of the longer drives to head to Oviedo and Santillana del Mar. But we have a brief stop to make on the way just to give Clive a quick look at A Coruna where I stayed with my friend Chris at her daughter Sarah and son-in-law David's place in 2011. We took a photo of their apartment, sampled some of the delicious churros at the popular El Timon churreria that was just a few steps up the road. It all felt quite familiar.
... bus route was just brilliant - it took you through gorges, past sheer cliff faces, alongside mountains and farms etc etc.
We got to Fuente Te and took the cable car into the clouds. Shame we were unable to see the last 150 m but nevertheless it was excellent.
When we got back to San Vicente we enjoyed some local delicacies. A most enjoyable day.
... doing homework and going to bed. Now what am I to do??
Not only am I going to miss Santander, I am going to miss the people. We got to know Dutch, Spanish, and British people really well, and it finally hit me that it is going to be hard to see them go!
Looking ahead to this weekend, I really need some rest! There will be a LOT of touring for the next few days, and before I know it, we will all be heading home!
... teared up again during this! Everyone in the whole room who was from WV (quite a bit of us) were all singing along and having a great time. What a great experience! We then all got our diplomas and took a group picture. I just can't believe it's all over! It's been such a wonderful experience.
Well, tomorrow we are heading out to go to Salamanca! It will be a busy weekend, but Ashley and I will keep you posted!
... life. It is almost as if the Spanish people nap during the day to take full advantage of the day and the night.
Tomorrow, there is a ceremony for those of us who will be receiving accreditation from the university. Knowing how much Santander loves to have a reason to celebrate, I hope there will be music and bittersweet tears. I will be sure to keep you posted on how that goes!
