Locarno Gardens Christchurch

... living and working in Australia. We picked him up and then went back to Christchurch to meet up with Ric and Angela. Ric and Angela are two of my lovely friends from home who got married in October (I couldn’t be there cos I was here… boo!) But, New Zealand was their choice for their honeymoon, so it was just fantastic to get to see them for a couple of days and catch up on all the goss. Congratulations Lamacrafts!! Xxx

... days left and there was snowboarding available locally so we took our first of two lessons. We both loved it but it is so hard and Steve defiantly got the hang of it alot quicker than me. I think he is hoping that the school might organise a ski trip next year so he can go and try it again!!!

On the bus again, into Christchurch. Nothing planned here either since I still don't feel well. Another early night and bus again in the morning. At first I was worried about this being sick because it did not start out as normal colds usually do. But now it has turned into just a head cold with a cough which is most uncomfortable and annoying, but I don't think it's anything serious.

... just next to them. Although the centre around Cathedral Square is small, you can find many walk in attractions there like an arts centre, museum or a gallery. Old fashioned tram suitably decorates overall appearance.
There are also three scenic routes around the city. I chose the hill one and drove up for great vistas. It was so windy I could hardly take any picture.
Later in the afternoon I left for Kairoura where I stayed overnight.

... caught a shuttle bus to the Backpacker/Britz/Maui campervan centre near the airport to pick up our home for the next 19 days. Barney, as he is now affectionately known, is a little van with a bed and a mini-kitchen and it's really wicked having the freedom to just drive wherever we like. So after we picked him up we headed North along the road to Kaikoura, our first stop. Still missing everybody at home xxxx

The first girl saw us spelling YWAM with our bodies at a certain street and taking a picture as part of our scavenger hunt and asked if we were with YWAM. After dinner we hit Skywalkers nightclub again and Barb took great delight in showing me how to dance to 'Nightbush city limits'

It was a surreal day and I have to say was up there as one of the best days of my life.
