... time preparing sauces, creating marinates and cutting herbs and veggies. We used a pestle and mortar to grind our spices in the old-fashion way in order to receive more flavor, as our teacher explained.
We needed the ingredients for the following dishes:
- Kaeng Luang Nua Tai (Southern Yellow Curry with Beef)
- Plaa Thod Rad Prik Saam Rod (Deep-fried Fish topped with 3-flavored sauce)
... so I thought it should be at least a little bit quieter there. Nope! Every bar and restaurant was having their own display on the pavement or in middle of the road!. So even if the things weren't going off as I passed , I had to be careful not to crash in to one of those used ones that littered the road. It did slow up around 3 am but a bar just down the road set off a window rattler about every 20 min or so until 5am .... Did not do much for rest of the day ...
... a little late.
Since we arrived we have had a stroll along the beach and dinner in a seafood restaurant - Mr Kwongs. So far just a little bit of a change of pace from previous days.
Tomorrow is a relaxing day, and with some tired boys it is well needed.
The boys do have access to WiFi here, just have to stand in the right ...
... didn't want a drink, Paige ordered a Singapore Sling (**** head!). We listened to the band and ate peanuts, throwing the shells on the floor in fine Raffles tradition. Very hard for me - I wanted to pick them all up! Staying longer at the bar than we thought, by the time we returned to the Lavender Hotel, ****/showered/shaved (as Grandad would say), packed our bags, set alarms, and prepared for early flight out to Phuket it was 2am.
