We stayed in the room in the photo above. Lovely little guesthouse overlooking Padangbai. Other guests were all very nice and backpacker types. The hotel managers were very friendly and helped us get tickets to Gili Meno with no fuss. Would stay here again!

... we were heading way too left so turned back. We then chose one that was straight in front of us and we both thought it was the right one as we could see the view of Padangbai like how we did when we came in, so we carried on walking, but it wasn't the right path as we couldn't walk any further due to huge boulders on our path. We were on the path that was higher up then the one we wanted to be, ...

    A day at the beach

A travel blog entry by ali_bkk on Jun 26, 2014

Nothing much to report today. Enjoyed sleeping in a proper bed again last night and had a leisurely breakfast. Went exploring to find the best beach in the area. It was lovely and very quiet, only really frequented by backpackers. The waves were pretty menacing though and nearly knocked me off my feet a couple of times. I will never get board of having a massage on the ...

The following morning I was up again early for the next two dives. The number five in Thai is pronounced "ha", making the meeting time "ha ha ha" though who cares when you're heading out to Chumphon Pinnacle where the sea was as calm as a lake despite being over 10km off the coast. It was unbelievably clear as we went down to 30m and the swam back up ...

... lady in her 40's with her bikie looking fiancée (like, meanest looking guy out)! Couple no 2. Brother and sister combo , he was in a metal band and she was going to get married in a couple of days but didn't want to - the brother getting into fisticuffs with the husband to be that afternoon! A bit bogan but harmless enough! Regardless, we danced with these people, because we all knew the words to the songs, and were ...

Fond memories always of a marvelous Wedding venue

Woke early and said goodbye to the marvellous views and surroundings.
Breakfasted well, as usual. Eggs scrambled today and apple juice finished from wedding celebrations.
Reduced in numbers now to immediate family. David, Julia, Chris, Anita, Phil Annette and I. Anita rode the scooter behind our van back to join the other wedding guests at Adi Dharma hotel Kuta. It was scary watching her in the crazy traffic winding ...
