... the place opens up into a wide basement. I order a Guinness at the bar (what else?), and take the music in.
Dublin, 14:00, A Sunday Afternoon:
I'm hungry. I've just gotten out of the gym, the best way to kill a few Sunday afternoon hours, and I just want to get home to some food. But as I get to the street I need to cross, I find that I cannot. Why? There's a sea of people marching, singing protest songs and shouting ...
... made on the plane. On my flight from Tampa to New York, I noticed the guy across the aisle from me had an Irish accent. Turns out he is from Dublin and was booked on my flight from New York to Dublin as well. He spent the summer working as a bar tender at McDitton's, me and the girls’ favorite social spot in Tampa. I told him I’m sure he had served me a drink or two over the past few months. Small world.
The good news is, my bag made it to Ireland. After ...
... side of travelling / moving e.g. finances, flights, accommodation and packing. Sigh.
However I've learnt to do as the Irish do, and have procrastinated the packing part. But the reality is that I need to do it, otherwise, God forbid, I'll be leaving about half my wardrobe behind. Seeing this is the 4th time I'm moving country, you think I would have learnt by now about minimising, and avoiding constant accumulation of ...
... damp weather. We had great tour guides all day, including Trinity College where students give the tours (ours was hilarious).
It is 10:45 pm right now and it is finally dark. The days are long!

... and it was fun. We had lunch thier and did a wee bit of shopping. I got a book on the Inside of the IRA and I cant wait to read it. Then it was back on the bus for our trip back to Dublin. We stopped at the Guiness Factory for a full tour of about 2 and a half hours. It was great and i really did enjoy it. Learning how Guiness makes Guiness was really interesting. Its a self guided tour and is about 7 floors and thier are about 2 floors of Guiness things ...
Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland adri204... very graciously wouldn't let us pay) and naturally went to Dublin's best kept secret our old local The Royal Oak (via Le Dolce Vita Irish-Italian with JMcT, and also still good). Also had lunch with old work mates BME & BB who again very decently wouldn't let me pay in The Harbourmaster in the city and then we had an afternoon in the Mater hospital café with a sick friend MK who is happily on the mend. Also we each had a lovely massage (really a gift ...
Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland danskgirlAudrey and I slept all day yesterday, and were awoken around 6pm by our new roommates unpacking. As it turned out, they were a pair of Canadian brothers, which was exciting for us because they spoke English in a manner in which we could understand, and they were from Toronto, which as everyone knows is where all the best Canadians are from (they're just so friendly!). The Canadians were very, very excited about this restaurant they had seen called the Couch Potato ...
Dublin, Ireland jhinch... commented that I preferred it more than soccer, much to Roberts distress). It was made even more enjoyable because Dublin was victorious but it was bloody cold. Tommorrow we are heading off on a drive around ireland firstly going south to Killarney and the Ring of Kerry and then north through Gallway up to Derry and across to Belfast then back down to Dublin.
Dublin, Ireland callow1234... searched for coins and once she was satisified she promptly left us for the next group of people and was bearing closer to the outside door to smoke. She was gone for quite a while but did prop up again on the microphone to order drinks. We stayed for awhile until John was satisifed he had something to write home about and then we went back to the apartment where I honestly don't know if I slept any better than the night before. But I did learn to roll up tissues ...
