... through some of the commercial district and past archeologically exposed Roman ruins. The main thing we haven't had time for is a visit to the museums housing art works by Matisse and Chagall but a good excuse to come back! We had been told not to miss Eze and because I always do what I'm told a quick visit was in order this afternoon! This place, perched on a hill top 1,400 feet above the sea, was used as fortification by Romans and Moores. What a gem. ...

... had a tour around the factory which was interesting - especially seeing that little duck shaped soaps are carved by hand (and Asians!!) Monaco was pretty cool and you could see a lot of money around, so many flash cars and boats, crazy flash boats! ... a big sign that said "Ernest". It turns out it is a famous chocolatier, and one of the best in France, so it was a great place for Jacquelien to send me. Unfortunately I got there after they closed, since Sunday they are only open until 12:30pm. I got the picture, which made me very happy, and then went to get something for lunch.

... wrong turns we got there and in that moment I thought I'd stepped back in time 6 years to our Russian trip. Here in the middle if Nice was a Russian cathedral just like St Basil's. Amazing. We went inside to have a look and noted that the frescos were not as detailed as those of the recent Greek Orthodox churches we had seen. We had planned to hop on the Hop On Hop Off bus to get closer to home, but decided we didn't know which direction it would be going in and knowing our luck ...
