... became much closer, he gave me the tour of his father’s land and that gave us an opportunity to better get to know and understand each other. Before when there were problems I was the least close with Michel, mostly because he works the most and I see him the least, but also because we didn’t understand each other’s motives for me being here. But once we came to find that our wants for my stay here are the same, all about being a ...

Fete des lumieres à Lyon!

... res.

Lyon with Lis

... t think it rained the whole time I was there, which made a welcome change from the UK!

Speaking of the UK, I've also just got back from a weekend in Bath (yes, I know, packing a lot in to my last few weeks here!). It is a lovely town, if expensive, and made lovelier by the fact it's Xmas time and all the lights and decorations were up. Anyway, Bath will have to wait for another blog as I need to go and do some work.

Looking forward to some hot weather soon,

Crumball Rally Day 3 - Auxerre to Macon

... to take a photo of!

Final stop of the day before arriving at our destination, was in a small town, where we had to buy the cheapest bottle of wine we could find, and we'd get one point for every Euro that it cost below 5 Euros. We did a pretty good job, finding 1L bottle for 1.25 Euros (roughly NZ$2.50!).

Again it was dark as we arrived in Macon, and after finding our way to the hotel and dumping out stuff in our ...

The many mysteries of life

... always notice that I am not as cheery. I have also had less of a desire to go out and party, that I am not sure if it is because of the stress, my stomach disease, the cold weather or because I am enjoying my family so much I would rather just be with them. I am 21 and I don’t (so neither should you friends!) feel like I am missing out when I am skipping a night out with my friends here. I mean if I do it too much ill get burnt out, I would ...

New beginnings

... passed that part of my life. And tell me as many times as you want “but your only 21 and I am ___ (insert your age there) you have no idea….” Truth is age is just a ****ing number on your driver’s license. You age from wisdom and experience.

So anyways the point I was making is so magical fairy came to me in my sleep and sprinkled “Why give a ****?” dust on me. So now when things happen like, god forbid ...

Good and Bad

... But I am convinced to keep my figure slim with the exception of a few pounds due to the changes in food I cant control. Today I went on a walk/run in the countryside to 1. Be healthy 2. Get out 3. Boost my endorphins 4. Take advantage of a rain free day 4. Boost my metabolism 5 burn some calories while I am at it. This was the first time I have worked out since February, which for me is insane. With ...

... up being cancelled - so we ended up just catching a train back to Paris to try our luck there. We had to change stations in Paris and we had 45 minutes to do it. Jumped in a cab with a crazy lady driver - our train left at 15:00 and she got us there at 14:59! We grabbed our gear and RAN! Would have been a sight to see .. the two of us sprinting with our backpacks on. We got into the station, checked the departures board as we ran and jumped on our ...

Safe and Sound

Soooo at long last, six of us arrived together in Paris Monday early in the afternoon and a nice gentleman from a Franco-Quebec organization was there to pick us up at the airport to bring us to a youth hostel for the night - service with a smile. While everyone else went off galavanting across Paris, I feel asleep! Later on, most of us met up at a great restaurant (called Paradis Aux Fruits I think) facing the Tour de ...
