Meandering around

... to Blakeney – again me and John have been there before, but mum and dad haven’t, we look round the book sale and then a small craft fair before taking a stroll along the harbour.

Last stop for dinner before going back was in Wells-next-the-sea where we go into Whin Hill Cider shop. Mum, dad and John taste some ciders and ma and pa purchase a couple of bottles. Fish and chips for dinner tonight – yum!

... imagining the people who lived there and their daily rituals.

We had the most beautiful day for it – and afterwards we go into the village and sit outside a small tearoom where we each have a piece of cake (lemon drizzle cake for me) and a drink, mum and I share a pot of coffee. Its lovely sitting there and we take our time, enjoying the sunshine and chatting.

We drive through the country lanes and flint villages until we hit Titchwell – where ...

... old voice sang along like she was Ella Fitzgerald. As we looked around it was apparent that at 41 we were actually the youngest people in the audience, except for those kids forced to go along but their gummy grandparents.
172 words into the show and Ken along with the only four people in the audience enjoying it (who happened to be sitting front and back of us) was getting on my nerves waving his stick under his legs and bumbling through his act like a ...

A hi-octane fuelled seaside weekend

The basic criteria for a blog entry from my angle will be loosely dubbed an escape route from home, which involves at least an overnight stay in some shape or form, thus allowing a 2-night camping trip to a British seaside town to nestle alongside higher-budget and further-flung trips. With my trusty piece of canvas barely having been put to any use beforehand, pitching a tent at a campsite at the town of Burgh-Le-Marsh, on the ...

The day after…

... s Connie doing, what if she can’t fly with the broken ribs, why is the sky blue, why does it hurt when I pee???…etc.

I called Connie at her bedside phone, which I had set up the evening before, to see how she was doing. She sounded pretty rough as stiffness had set in, but said she was better than the day before, which made me feel somewhat better, but not much. Mick and I set off on the hour and a half trip to the airport ...

back to the roots

We stayed four days in Skegness (never heard of it???) Its very famous for an outstanding event. I was born there. I haven't been back for over 40 yeas. Its a seaside resort in the true English fashion. the Sand, deck chairs, pier (well half of one anyway, the other half blew down in a storm 30 years ago). On the seafront ...

... standars that I have to establish before I could call my self a photographer. I see it now, it is a bit silly… but one has to decide why you want to a certain thing, then do it, and let no one stop you, even if you suck. And stop comparing yourself to others, people you look up to and admire – there will always be the ones yu are better than you, but hey… you have the same right to do things, play the drums or photograph, if it feels as the right thing. Hell yeah ...

Heading to Scotland...Road Trip!!

MAY DAY Bit of a later start than we had hoped….but finally got going later afternoon (ended up sending out last minute wedding invites!) It's raining …what’s new!? We headed north, and took the A1. It’s a pretty wet day, and as we drove through Sandringham (past Sandringham House where there is a Royal Military base!) Huge gate…but it was so wet we didn ...
