Hello and cheers to all.

The palace provided entertainment til 5:30am. It was party time next door. Young ones, booze and loud music must be what happens in Siofok on a Friday night. They bus them in, dunno where from, but they were here in droves.

... lunch . Shortly before Tihany we stopped for petrol and parked in the garage forecourt was a small car manufactured during the communist period. It was a very block like car with a fibreglass body, nothing flash. However, they were loved by the people.

Tihany is a small village northern shore of Lake Balaton, the largest inland lake in Europe.

Lake Balaton was just what we needed- a beautiful, laid back, vacation spot for Central Europeans! It was so nice to come to a small town where there were little to no tourists, finally. ... lunch and rests in various scenic spots. One of them we watched a water snake with a head the size of a teaspoon, grapple with its dinner- a fish the size of a tablespoon. Eventually the fish escaped. There are lots of snakes in the water – we assume they are harmless as they are in bathing areas.

... After renting the boys floats (pool noodles with a connector that made a loop), we entered the least populated of the four pools in the main building. There was of course a reason that it was the least populated - it was the cold water pool.
