... was to come and we ate the best meal we had had in weeks, all washed down with a fine bottle of Argentinian red (this was nothing new though, aside from a night or 2 on the trek, every night seems to be washed down with a bottle of Argentinian red! Well... when in Rome... hic!)

... the passengers were not even paying attention to the the scenery as the boat chugged along because they were busy feeding crackers to seagulls and attempting to take una foto juuuust at the right moment! It was pretty funny because I just kept thinking about how back home seagulls are literally everywhere all summer trying to get food, "pig birds" I believe is what Dad refers to them as, and in this situation they were definitely not something people were trying to shoo ...

There are fresh water streams all over the place which means that you don´t have to carry any drink and get to sample the purest tasting water ever! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and far better than what we had seen at Tierra del Fuego in Ushuaia. The trek is a run of indescribable snow clad spires, luminous lakes with a few glacies ...

... out of 12 due to the level of the snow cover still being really low due to it being spring. But we wouldn´t let a little snow get in our way.

The following day we decided to cycle the Circuito Chico which is basically a road loop around some islands and peninsula and across several lakes and rivers. It was probably the most beautiful 27k of scenery I have ever seen. The photos only show a little of its beauty.

... is a Swiss influence on Bariloche, the buildings were wooden Swiss chalet style, very touristy, but a lively place. The hotel had a great view of the lake and our bedroom overlooked it too. We had a wander around the town, which was full of chocolate shops, had dinner, then returned to the hotel. The owners were lovely and friendly.

We had breakfast in the dining room overlooking the lake. the landlady gave us a map and showed us the bus stop we needed to go to ...
