Thank you Irma for a wonderful stay at your b&b. You made us feel so welcome from the start and everything was just squeeky clean and beautifully decorated with so much care and attention to the details. We loved, loved, loved the Spanish breakfast and the big table that we could all sit around. We'll definitely be back and recommend you to anyone. Very central and great location!

Victoria mentions in The Return, which discussed the effects of the Spanish Civil War on Spain, how many who fled Spain because of the Civil War were disgusted with the people from Northern Europe who went to Spain while Franco was still in power. This is because they would rave about how amazing Spain was for holiday, but were completely ignorant to the ...

... down to Santa Cruz for dinner, and we all looked super snazzy for our farewell party. We all met outside this incredibly fancy restaurant (the Casino--not like Las Vegas casinos, but more like social clubs), and took an obnoxious amount of group photos, selfies and final shots with friends. When we finally ended up going inside this restaurant--which was the most upscale place I've ever been in (and probably ever will be in)--we were escorted to one of the most fancy dining halls ...

... Marc and Sergio didn't show up for class today, so Ashley and I got to leave the hospital early. We went to SuperDino to get some snacks and then ran back to the residencia. I don't know why I've been so tired today, but I had two coffees before seminar and I still almost fell asleep. After tonight's soccer game (US vs. Ghana, I can't wait!), I will be going straight to bed to prepare for my second day in gynecology. I can't wait to see how my last week here turns out!

Working with her has been tough for Paco, since she can barely communicate orally. She's Spanish, and she doesn't have a degenerative disease or anything like that, but whenever Paco tried to ask her questions, she would either stare at him in a confused, worried daze or mutter ...

... was the small market square where a pleasant continental style cafe served typical coffee, beer and sandwiches. It was not the menu or the rather nice surroundings which pleased me so much, it was the friendliness, charm and manner of the staff and other three or four customers. For once I did not feel like a tourist but as a visitor or traveller passing the time of day in another country where sights, sounds and taste are enjoyably different. Everything ...
