Thank you Irma for a wonderful stay at your b&b. You made us feel so welcome from the start and everything was just squeeky clean and beautifully decorated with so much care and attention to the details. We loved, loved, loved the Spanish breakfast and the big table that we could all sit around. We'll definitely be back and recommend you to anyone. Very central and great location!

My last two days in Tenerife

... seen. We had an awesome view of Santa Cruz from the balconies to our side, and the chairs we sat in were so comfy they felt like sofas. Our coordinators treated us tonight to some fresh wine and Sangrķa, and we got constant refills on bread--which I always love. Dinner was different for everyone, because we actually got to order our own food tonight (a rare occasion here). I had a salad for my first course (it was really more like cole slaw, but they call it "ensalada cubana") ...

Week 5 is here! I can't believe how fast this whole experience has gone by! It feels like just yesterday I was anxiously running around the airport hopelessly trying to make it to my terminal on time, and now here I am running around La Laguna as if it were my home town.

For my final week, I'm in the Gynecology unit with one of the session A fellows, Mary Hunter. Today was our first day, and I have to say that I'm more excited for the specialty now than ...

... Paco has suspected that her biggest problem is psychiatric, and so today he ordered a joint consult with a psychiatrist. I got to sit in on the psychiatrist's session with this woman, and through a long conversation, he learned little more from her than where she lives in Tenerife, who she lives with (she has a daughter) and how long she's been in the hospital. The woman was oriented, but still could not communicate well. The psychiatrist explained to her that her ...

... at once and I felt totally relaxed and possibly just begining to wonder what was over the next hill.

We are now back at our recently acquired home in Eastbourne, close to our latest grandson and family. The Canaries trip proved a good test for further trips but I'm told the need for realism in planning a more appealing and adventurist journey is needed; such realism restricts my instincts. As you all know dreams can come true and occasionally do.

... since it was in the south we had absolutely perfect weather. It was extremely sunny and warm, but not uncomfortably hot or humid--perfect weather for the beach. The south is the most popular tourist area on the island, so everyone on the beach spoke an awkward mix of Spanish, English, French and German. The beach itself though was among the top five most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The sand was a mix of black and white, so it had this cool brown/silver color I've never ...
