Vanuit Yangon zijn we naar Bangkok gevlogen en met NokAir naar Udan Thani, vervolgens zijn we met een paar bussen via een brug over de grens Laos binnengereden. De Thai–Lao Friendship brug is gebouwd in de '90er jaren van vorige eeuw over de rivier 18 kilometer van de stad tot aan Nong Khai in Thailand.

... it came down like a monsoon! Our second night it had done the same, and we were at the night market. Everyone was running in all directions, if it hadn't of been so wet it would have been hilarious. All the locals screaming and running like there had been a murder! Sat in the bakery, i'd have to agree the rain was no fun here, no spitting for a couple of hours, it was like a 10 minute warning and then it was cats and dogs!
