... to go with it. Just my luck to get stuck in traffic then the airport to be manic as it was the start of the Thai holidays. There was no chance of making it for my flight. Luckily they leave every hour or so, so after waiting 45 minutes in the customer information queues I was allocated another flight at 4:30pm. Luckily this time I made it, not with much time to spare though as the check in queues were that busy and only 1 flight attenedent at the counter. What a ...

It definitely felt like the longest day in history. Woke up at 7am and went for a long jog/walk along the beach, 7kms all up. The beach is beautiful, crystal clear water with white sand, nothing like Bali. After breakfast we got our first Thai massage for an hour which cost $10, I'll be getting one of those everyday! ... the profit goes to the girl and the bar. Then if the man wants to take her to a different bar or home he must pay the bar what they would loose that night usually about 2000 baht. Then she can leave BUT they payments don’t stop there!! If she goes with you its just the beginning you must pay for everything for her (drinks, food etc.) Although most girls would usually expect a present and insist on gold! (because it wouldn’t loose value and can be sold on quickly) oh ...

Anita's Thailand adventure has begun. We are staying in Old Town Phuket, a much quieter and pleasant place than the more touristy beach areas. We feel safe at night wandering around Old Town. There aren’t many tourists and the locals are friendly. It has a strong Portuguese influence on the architecture and we enjoyed exploring the little laneways and finding beautiful townhouses and galleries and cafes. It had a nice mix of modern and history in the town.
