    THE CASTLE

A travel blog entry by jessielewcock on Jan 25, 2015

Today we venture out to where it all began. Adriana's dream to visit the castle that inspired Walt Disney's design became a catalyst for my dream holiday of a lifetime. All of our hard work saving and planning for this trip is symbolised by today. It's a big deal! It was snowing constantly and quite heavily at times but the roads were already very well cleared when we hopped on the bus to the castles. Upon arrival we had ...

    To Fussen

A travel blog entry by jessielewcock on Jan 24, 2015

... I made it for our first leg of about 20mins before crisis struck and I had to get off to venture above ground immediately. There was still nearly an hour to go to get to Heathrow. Thankfully the stop I chose, South Kensington, was a very familiar one and I knew once I got to street level exactly where the public amenities were along with Starbucks and Pret. Adriana, Maria, and Isil stayed on the train and continued ...

It is not too far from Munich and we can do an about trip in a day. This year the snow is light compared to previous visits. Yesterday I got to do my long awaited visit to the German Museum in Munich, last trip I was hamstrung by females who do not see the merit ...

... but decided just to have lunch. It was not a very nice day and we wanted clearer skies for picture taking at the castles. On the way home we started to hear thunder. Guenther loves this, I, however, do not. We were only about 1/4 of the way home and I didn't want to see how good the rain gear was. It was kinda freaky to have thunder with snow and rain coming down. After a couple of hours to get home, I was toast. A hot shower was in order. A late dinner with a couple of ...

    1736. Going Shopping

Day 284 2 hrs 5 kms I follow the trail which cuts through a cow pasture, where a portly bovine dares stands in my way a la Lord of the Rings :"You shall not pass!" Finally I climbed up the sloped to get around her. Down at the bottom is a reservoir and the valley floor widens a little. For this next stretch I actually feel hot for the first time in who knows how long. Looks like it might ...
