Same Same......
Jun 2, 2008

After nearly three weeks in China, I was glad to be on my way to the western friendly Thailand. I had enjoyed China but was glad to say goodbye for now. It is a fairly demanding place. Everything is big and busy. Couple that with not being able to speak the native language and it soon gets tiring. I rose early and headed downstairs to have break...

seperation anxiety

After some deliberation, Mr. Shein and I have temporarily split paths. I took a night train back to Bangkok (where I reside now at lovely Lamphu house), and he has stayed in Chiang Mai for an extra couple of days with our British friends. There are a couple extra sites I want to see around Bangkok, and Shein is enjoying himself in peaceful Chian...

Back to Bangkok....on my way home~

I arrived back where I started in Bangkok, here for two nights of Thai food and massages, and of course people watching on Khao San Road. This is one of those places that you either love or hate. At first it is overwhelming, its hot and busy and there are the strangest bunch of characters that you have ever layed eyes on, and I'm talking about t...

The Last Stop
Mar 10, 2007 (15 photos)

At last I've managed to get my act together and finish off the final entry. I think I was reluctant to do it because it marks the end of such a great trip. Maybe I could carry it on into an Oz diary as well!!! Bangkok was the last stop on the trek. We left Ko Phi Phi on the 2pm ferry, made our way to Phuket town, ate a beautiful meal for 1euro a...

Our second day in Bangkok found us searching for more appropriate accommodation and since Will wanted to save some money I ended up searching with Duncan from the previous border crossing and we found a really nice twin room on a street just 2 minutes from Khao San but much nicer called Rambuttri. During my time in Bangkok I stayed at both the R...

I've finally arrived in Bangkok after about a 30 hour journey that had both its ups and downs. The flight to New Delhi was delayed and all together I believe it took about 18 hours with those delays but upon arrival I got to stand in immigrations both to enter the country (1 hours wait) and then turn right back around and stand in another line t...

Suited and booted in Bangkok

Yup, we're still in Bangkok! We arrived here on Monday (today is thursday) and have been flaked out ever since. Journey from Phnom Penh was fabulous, we booked with airasia and bagged rather bargainous seats online. Bangkok is absolutely nothing like I'd expected - it's so very western! Bangkok airport was nothing like the chaos people describe....

Homeward Bound...
Sep 1, 2006

Here endeth the story. We made our way back to Bangkok for a few nights before the flight back to blighty. Train back to Bangkok was far less exciting as the only class they had was a/c and this involved a trolley-dolley and fancy curtains. Thats no fun! Lily did manage to choke on her complementary meal which caused great excitement for the res...
