Fans - There was a bit of a somber tone in the stadium at pregame due to the passing of Darrell Royal, but that quickly wore off once the game started. ... the flight to LA had told us about, where at sunrise every night over a million bats fly out from under the bridge to go hunting for insects. We were desperate to see the bat cloud, so we got to the bridge just as the sun was setting about 8pm to get a spot on the bridge. An hour or so later and still no sign of bats, it was starting to get dark and we were thinking we wouldn't see them even if they made an appearance! They did come out eventually, but it was too dark ...
