    We spent another boring necessary travel day to get from Aix to Nice. The first leg was great, easy train access and a quick trip down to Marseille. Then the wait was on as the train to take us from Marseille was over 30 minutes late departing and by the time we arrived in Nice we were over an hour behind. We bought our tickets from Nice to Milan for October 5th but couldn't reserve spaces on the Italian section for our bikes. We hope that will work out.

    ... ladle that we couldn't pass up. We would return with the family and found a hundred year old paella pan that we would somehow manage to squeeze into our suitcase.

    Sunday, like at home, is a time to rest and prepare for the week ahead. The family tended to their chores and we helped where we could. Our chores entailed packing our clean cloths among our new kitchen utensils and some carefully wrapped olives from the Chawilibog's harvest.

    Wednesday morning we set off early on an easy hike out to the Mourres rock formations. We walked past lots of wild lavender growing in clumps and other typical Provence shrubs such as juniper. We arrived at the rocks which had been formed 25 million years ago when islands of water plants and primitive seaweed were trapped in the limestone, building the mounds into different shapes and eventually evolving into rocks.     ... after reading all the Info. Decided to stay at the La Palud Sur Verdon municipal campsite. The town was very busy so we carried on to the campsite to find to our annoyance that it was closed for the season despite the info. We had been given.
