After what seemed like an endless and eventful journey along the gorge road, the horizon opened up to show us a much more favourable view of the Mediterranean sea. The expanse of the Cannes/Antibes area was something else, as I negotiated yet another dodgy route planned by the increasingly spiteful gps, and we began searching for somewhere to spend the night. Andree again came up triumphs ...

Everyone was a tourist and were travelling at tourist pace with a stopped car on every bend taking a photo of the magnificent view.

I did the same because every corner revealed a new vista. A thousand ...

... his helmet and his hand - nothing shockingly serious however it prevented Mike from climbing for the rest of that week. At least for Graham the holiday was salvaged a bit by climbing with Chris, they did an amazing looking multipitch line up the arete which me and Mike could observer and photograph from another canyon pillar. My personal introduction to Verdon was pretty short - we absailed down a crazy exposed top pitch to a hanging belay, the sheer exposure ...
