Bahia de huatulco, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico demakki... is very much off the beathen track, but well worth it. It's pretty much a shack and some plastic chairs on arrival, you get shown a plate of VERY fresh fish and asked how you'd like them cooked, then lead down to the edge of the lagoon, where you introduced to the crocadilles and given the changce to hold it's tail and take tourist photes (see photos), lovely boat chap helps you all onto his little rowing boat and you set off for a leasurly row round the lagoon. It really was ...
Zipolite, Pacific Coast, Mexico pollakmenace... were waves are smaller but still big, but about 60 guys in the water trying to catch a wave. Only the best of the best make it and wanna be surfers are happy to walk along the beach with their board and pretending they belong to the surf community. Jason decided not to go so we could reach our next stop and do a stop-over on our way back. Therefore, we continue and stay in an area of several little towns, consisting of Mazunte, San Agustinillo and Zipolite. We stop at the ...
San Agustinillo, Pacific Coast, Mexico lenitasworld... spat them back out of the sea as soon as they managed to get in, despite the best efforts of a slightly batty French woman who crouched behind them all day, gently prodding them on with sticks. Good food and beautiful sunsets, wish I could stay here longer but tomorrow it's back to carville and training my tequila belly for saturday. Ding dong, it's wedding time!
Zipolite, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico lisaviro1981... number of new but large birds nesting. The beach there is huge and undeveloped. Quite nice. San Agustinillo is sandwiched between Mazunte and Zipolite and is working ***********sciencous development with places for recycling plastic bottles (of which there seem to be millions), batteries and such. Actually this whole stretch is trying to be more thoughtful about it all. I am hopeful for them. You know you are really off the beaten path when you ...
Mazunte, Mexico roamingjodi... me know what was going on and I could see pretty much everything. The other girl in my group got to help right there which is pretty cool. Maybe if I do something like this after my fourth year, I'll be able to do more hands-on stuff. Other than that, nothing very notable happened that I can remember. Today, I saw a vaginal birth. Here, they pretty much cut an episiotomy for all of the births. This is contrary to what is ...
Pochutla, Mexico shef11308... out I saw it was a huge, black iguana, with a few small cream-colored patches around his neck! When it rains there are also these huge toads that come out, almost as big as my head. Mangos are so plentiful that they don't all get eaten... there are giant mango trees with hundreds of perfect, delicious mangos just lying around on the ground, untaken. Just 5 km down the road, in another beach town called Mazunte, is a center where they study turtles, and they ...
Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico rgeiss78... has been easy because the pool is so close. With the sunset comes the cervesa hour... surprisingly, we´ve had no trouble with our evening beer responsibilities! Four days have passed and so too has any stress. I found a local surf shop that rents bodyboards and fins for $10/day. The swell was at it´s biggest when I arrived and is now back to "normal," which, at double overhead, is still a little too rich for my blood. I made some Aussie friends who know of a ...
Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico johnb22... A more built up town, with a turtle nursery/research centre... interesting to check out. The Oaxaca coast is a very important turtle (tortuga in spanish) breeding area, Mexico is home to all of the worlds sea-turtle species bar one!!! Marci and Vicky at Malix hotel are sweethearts...good internet downstairs and happy to give advice and help. We felt really sorry for the hawkers trying to make ends meet along the beach area; no one around to ...
San Agustinillo, Mexico mhaebichAnd then, there were 2...To make a long story short, things started getting a little tense last weekend. One of the original travel gang jumped out in Zihua; In Acapulco, we lost one more and Puerto Escondido marked the end of my traveling in the pick up truck ...
