Cabarete, turen til Las Galeras og tiden der

A travel blog entry by karim.benounis

Torsdag.

... worse, especially in Guatemala and Nicaragua. Typical in Latin America most houses are only partially finished. Many do not have glass windows, just metal or wooden shutters. Roofs are corrugated metal. Yards are open soil and an eroded mess. I can’t imagine what they use for sanitation. There is little work, as evidenced by men hanging around with nothing to do. I’m not smart enough to know the answer, but we should never take for granted the quality ...

... a mansion in a small beach village in the north of Samana, and 16 of us piled in for three nights of partying. The house looked like a drug lord owned it, and was just 15 mins walk from an incredible beach.

The first day we went to Playa Rincon which is meant to be one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. We played, drank beer and sun bathed for the whole day, ...

... but man it was hot. We walked thugh a street market to the town but it's all souvenir shops, not an Internet cafe in sight! We headed back after a while and halfway back we felt a few light spots of rain then two minutes later fat rain, loads of fat rain, which was actually quite refreshing. The locals thought we were mad but we carried on regardless, lost a few dollars to the kids and arrived at the tender looking like drowned ...

"How many scoops of ice cream, boss?" 5 minutes pass. “Oops, I spilled the final product.” Start over. This time the supervisor is on the job. 5 more minutes pass. Oops, supervisor spills the resultant smoothie. Good Lord, is someone pumping Ether through the airducts? Are we under a terrorist attack? 5 more ...

After seeing our first booking, and turned that down. Ronald welcomed us with open hands to his La Rancheta. Wonderful place where you feel that Ronald and his family is happy to have you there and takes good care of you. The breakfast was amazing, and the swimmingpool with natural flowing water was a delight. We strongly recomend it!
