... 11 Geography teacher must have been good! She inspired in me a real fascination with volcanoes. I think of all the concepts taught in the old Leaving Geography course, this is the only one I really got excited about. The Rhone River valley, its geographical characteristics, and influence on trade never really sparked my interest! ... However Mitch struggles as he wants to talk & play but the kids his age only speak Italian...which I suppose makes sense!. This is an aspect of our trip I hadn't really considered :-(. We didn't do a whole lot on the islands. The little town of Lipari was gorgeous & the early evening is the time to head out. The main street is cobble stoned & only for pedestrians. There are numerous fruit venders, delis & gelato ...

... the NW. Milena was pitching side to side with such force, that all of us had to hang on.... And it was not safe to walk. The waves never came over the sides of the boat, or got the decks wet at all. The rollers were not high, just big and very fat. Jacques said these waves are coming to us from Sardinia. Great.... Bad water conditions around Sardinia..... Not a surprise.... The seas are always rough around Sardinia this time of year. BAMMMM SPLATTTTT TINGLE TINGLE ...
