... a contemporary Sicilian restaurant with a middle eastern twist. George's spaghetti with prawns and local porcini mushrooms was delicious (I did try it..), and my very upmarket fish cakes with a yoghurt and mint based sauce was great too. For our last day in Sicily, we have had to eschew Anoeta's advice to hire a motor scooter and ride around Lipari. ('Anyone can ride them! It's fun!') Remembering George's brief wobbly appearance across the front of stage during the overture of ...

... However Mitch struggles as he wants to talk & play but the kids his age only speak Italian...which I suppose makes sense!. This is an aspect of our trip I hadn't really considered :-(. We didn't do a whole lot on the islands. The little town of Lipari was gorgeous & the early evening is the time to head out. The main street is cobble stoned & only for pedestrians. There are numerous fruit venders, delis & gelato ...

... the NW. Milena was pitching side to side with such force, that all of us had to hang on.... And it was not safe to walk. The waves never came over the sides of the boat, or got the decks wet at all. The rollers were not high, just big and very fat. Jacques said these waves are coming to us from Sardinia. Great.... Bad water conditions around Sardinia..... Not a surprise.... The seas are always rough around Sardinia this time of year. BAMMMM SPLATTTTT TINGLE TINGLE ...
