... didn't appear to be getting anywhere near to anything we remembered. My only hope was that the signs kept saying Gare Sud and I knew we had come out at the north entrance when we arrived. But the bubble of panic was there as we were not sure if it was going to be a completely different train station. Luckily, it wasn't and we made it to the station well within time for the train!

As the bus came into Orleans I could tell it was going to be a very different place to Chartres. The buildings were more modern but looking shabby. As we pulled into the bus station I noticed there was only bus parking - no information area or office and no signs offering me much assistance. I asked the bus driver where I could find a taxi and she lifted her shoulders and then told me to walk down the street a number of blocks (she was speaking French). At the exit there were ...

On my wanders I found a Restaurant with red snuggle rugs on chairs for patrons to wrap around themselves. It had been a little chilly of an evening but these were out on the seats during the day also.
